Just a thought for anyone with a slightly older Elise who may get a surprise if they need to make an insurance claim.

Currently book value is bubbling around 50% of market value that is what is selling for £12000 to £13000 has a 'book value' of £6000 to £7000.

I'm sure many of us are guilty of shopping around for the best price fully comp and forget about discussing agreed value. Or the consideration that £6k worth of damage is easy if you run out off road.

Does anyone know a insurance company that could cover an agreed value?

Footman James used to do one, I had my S1 on that type of 'classic' policy at the time but not sure if it is still available.

yeah, I used Richard Egger for agreed value on mine for a few years ...no issues at all claiming when i wrote it off either, I would do it again

its usually about 20% extra for an agreed value policy, and you need to provide proof of value - usually lots of pics and independant valuation from a specialist will do

I use Richard Egger for agreed value policy. Always had aggreed value so not sure what the premium is. I ahve a lot of upgrades on the car which don't add a mega amount to the market value but would cost a lot to replace.
