I posted a while back about what I'm doing with my (small) yard and the corner plot was referred to as a "horses grave":

This was how it looked in perspective:

Well, I'm continuing to try to work out what to do with it all and still haven't put anything in it apart from a load of Dahlias in the back and side as, well, I like them. And, of course, a load of obligatory (and cheap) bedding plants.

Admittedly it doesn't compare with what the PH masses have, but it's keeping me and my 2 year old amused.

Comments along the lines of that looks like it was put together by that 2 year old are not welcome!

Good luck with the Dahlias , I like them too, great to have such lovely cut flowers available .

This weekend was spent starting the new ones off in the greenhouse .

I've been given a Magnolia for my birthday, as we're trying to sell and moving eventually though I intend to keep it hence the (partially) buried pot.

The primroses are happy and the daffs are pretty much finished, but the bedding plants aren't faring so well....

James, where is the rest of your garden? Is it hiding somewhere?

If that pot has holes in the bottom, you would probably be best not burying it. When you come to move it may have put roots down through the holes and not like you lopping them off.

Hopefully we won't be there too long, but the pot it's in is a fair bit bigger than the pot it came from - I'll hoik it out in the next couple of weeks to monitor....

Not posted in here for ages due to a plant identification query, but here is it so far:

Not much improvement, but the fence is going over the next couple of weeks which may help things along.

ETA - the Dahlias have finally put their heads up!
