British Rallycross @ Lydden

First time I've photographed any kind of circuit event and I don't think I could have picked a better venue! Great access almost the whole way around, a number of spots where you can see the entire track. Oh, and a load of cars with around 550BHP that can do 0-60 in 1.8 secs ... happy days!
A few of my favourites from the day. All shot on the Canon 40D with the Sigma 100-300 f4 attached.
Delightful old 6r4.

Dirt everywhere.

Great mix of cars.

Close racing all day.

Liam Doran on his way to the Superfinal victory.

Full set here. C&C welcomed.

Dogsey,
It's a great track but sometimes the sun is just in the wrong place although the dust getting thrown up when backlit looks nice. Oh and the burger van isn't too bad
That close racing one could do with a crop to get rid of the front gravel track - especially to show off the car cocking it's leg.

Thanks for the comments guys.
I love Lydden, Monday was the first time I'd been down there in around 30 years. My dad used to have a photographers pass down there so used to spend all day out on the bank in the middle, leaving a 6-8 year old me wandering around the outside of the track and mixing with all the drivers and crews in the paddock all day. Dimi Mavropoulos and his RS1800 was my hero.

I very nearly did crop that one but I just couldn't decide on where to crop it. I'll revisit it later and see what I can do. I've still got around 300 photo's that could be processed and uploaded so plenty of work still to do (not that I'll do all of them). It's a great track but sometimes the sun is just in the wrong place although the dust getting thrown up when backlit looks nice.
