F1 2004 who will be watching
Discussion
Yep - I'll be there - even though UK interest is at an all time low with just DC and Button involved.
Trivia question: which year was the last time there were only 2 UK drivers?
Surprised that ITV hasn't had more of a preseason splash on the box. I hope their coverage is not going to be downgraded. Their website is singularly devoid of the usual pre-season hype and news on TV features ahead of the start is totally absent. Anyone on the inside who can give some insights?

Yep. I'll watch it as always. Considering doing Silverstone this year...but probably not due to expense, crowds etc.
As always.

Don't be put off by expense. 200 quid gets you a 3-day ticket with a grandstand seat - massive reduction on before. And the traffic system is improved, max numbers in the circuit have been dropped.
that leaves only the shite overpriced food to bitch about! And boy is that food bad

Just wondered how many people will be watching the F1 this year in a hope that it will be more interesting.
There were some good races last year but overall the year was crap.
Steve
Agreed - any race that is won based on pit strategy rather than battling on the track, really isn't worth watching. Probably just do my usual routien of watching the qualifying, the start, and the last couple of laps. MotoGP will be the top class event to watch this year....

Or you could spend about the same money getting a coach down to le Mans, paying for a ticket for the greatest race in the world on the gate and having enough change for as many helpings of chips and beer as you can handle!
I used to be a BIG F1 fan but the souls gone out of it.

and £200 would also get two people into loads of club meetings throughout the year! Go on, leave the F1 Pantomine for a season and watch some really close racing this year! three mini miglias abreast into old paddock bend, round the outside at Quarry in a formula ford, oooh suits you sir!
ill be watching but to be honest more out of routine than for the racing. even when its close racing it isnt as good as other championships (touringcars, caterhamsetc)the cars just dont seem to lend themselves well to racing(all that downforce i guess). imo the fia should have a major rethink over the regulations, and the new qualifying is crap....
as said above if moto gps on theres no question...

Book a GA ticket before the 1st march and is only £90 for 3 days ....and the food isn't that expensive or that bad - though if you camp as well you can enjoy 'boy scout/girl guide' cooking every night
To the original question...YES...I'll watch every minute of it..including the replays
..And I'll be at Silverstone too

200 quid would also buy you a TV and video and a month's access to Sky Sport so you can watch Fly Fishing programmes.
Or half a 40 gig ipod.
the point being to spend it on whatever you want! enjoy your sport gentlement - as is my passion I'll be enjoying F1!
I am considerinf going to silverstone this year but have also been thinking of going to Spa its one or the other.
Been reading through the news and am thinking are Mclaren doing what they did 4 or 5 years back. MAde a big revolutionary step and hiding. and will be a second quicker a lap on the first race.
I'll watch all the races on TV, and I'll attend a test or two in the summer. I love F1, but sportscar racing destroys in in every category that matters. Will be at the Silverstone and Spa 1000km this year, Donington FIA GT, and British GT at as many places as I can fit in. Along with being at Oulton Park most Saturdays for top quality club racing.
yeah i will be watching F1 this year... always do... even when its shit
that said, it was the best i can remember last year...
wont be paying the extortinat prices to see it live though, instead will go to see FIA GT, LMES and Le Mans and probably some touring car rounds and even the WRC as that's proper motorsport...
