Never found the need for one personally - and at weddings not only is there no time to use one, but there is generally something white in the frame!

I use an XRite Colour Checker card sometimes, depends how bothered I am about the greys really smile

landscapes use grass or the ground as its pretty much close to 18% grey. With raw these days theres little need

Depends on your software. If I use the WB dropper on something green in C1 Pro it's going to go very wrong indeed!

:O how do you get white balance from grass? you can used grass for exposure but not white balance!

I dont bother with white balance cards etc but if it was a job where colour accuracy was important I would.

Also need it if you use colour filters (or realy even ND's if there not 100%.
