Its the same with any Lotus really, check for suspension damage, cracks or damage to the clams and good regular servicing and refreshes(dont be put off by specialists rather than main dealer histories),dont worry too much about mileage as long as its been looked after. If buying from a dealer you can ask for an ECU printout to check engine history.
Try posting on www.seloc.org for owners opinions and recommendations for dealers etc in your area, there will even be some for sale in the classifieds smile

Cheers buddy been to a few main dealers and to be honest don't think much of them, starting to think private owner who looks after their car is the way to go but looks like people keep these for a while so keeping my eyes peeled for the right car fingers crossed

In which case Seloc or PH (non-trade) classifieds may be good sources

I dealt with Paul Matty Cars and they tried to sell me a car with performance and touring pack over the phone even though I knew the pics in the advert, demonstrated the fact it didn't have a touring pack. The best bit of adivce I would give you is really research all the different specs that are available for the exige, so you know exactly what you are getting for your money, but be very careful.
