cannot be bothered to respond to the numpties, my previous reliable german bmw cost me a small fortune for example a local dealer wanted 180 quid for an oil change (apparently its Special oil!!), although its the same oil as most taxi,s run!!
My other halfs 1 series goes in to be fixed everytime there is a frost due to there pissing useless window design!!!!!!
obviously we have a colder dlimate here all those thousands of miles away!!!!!!

Most comments from non-TVR owners always focus on reliability, build quality etc.
Of course what they can never appreciate is the 'wow factor' of these cars. It doesn't make them better or more reliable, but it does give a TVR a 'difference', that I for one, have not found in other marques.

As someone who had a 540 BMW before the TVR, all I can say is I have owned the TVR twice as long as the BMW and the TVR has never left me stranded.
Luckily for me I bought the BMW with their full warranty, as in the 3 years I owned it it had 6 (yes 6) new cats fitted, a new radiator, a new dash board as the mileage and various other bits of the display went T*Ts up.
A new engine ECU that just decided one day to fail miles from home.
A new alarm control box and the air con regassed so many times I lost count.
Oh and it broke down 3 times.
Apart from that it was a great car.
(not much sole though)

My wife drives a 335 BMW and i drive a Tuscan.
I had a disscusion with my wife about this thread today on the way back from a meeting and we was in the Tiv so we had to shout
Ann dislikes the Tiv too loud and too raw.
She loves the BM as it's safe, quieter, more refined.
At the end of the day each to their own

Must admit, I'm a little sick of TVR bashing. I've been looking for my first for a while now and trying to decide on which to get.
Was in my local a little while back and the regular fella at the end of the bar gave his advice
"Kit car"...blah blah... "Smells of glue"... waffle waffle... "Very unreliable"... pratle pratle... "Bits fall off"
So I asked him if he had ever owned one?
"er..... no, but I read it all the time on the internet so it must be true"
Well, according to that theory I can now advise him without a hint of doubt that theres a lot of Nigerian princes out there looking to safely invest money in his bank account, countless 18 year old blonde beautys want to be his pal on facebook and he can grow his penis with little more then some pills and wishful thinking.

, but that was because the hub nut hadn't been tightened fully.I can't understand why they are trying to make this comparison. A mass produced high powered 4 seater saloon car with all the driver aids mankind has ever invented versus a hand made 2 seater sports car made to suit a market that does not want any add-on driver aids. It's like comparing an Espace with a Transit, both fulfil a particular requirement but in such different ways that they don't share the same market sector
