Aargh!

Decorating the dining room this week but the previous owners had swanky lights that hung down over the table - these were attached to the ceiling via rails which were stuck to the ceiling plaster with very strong adhesive strips....

...how the hell do I get these off? I have been scraping away with a stripping blade, wiped them over with a soaking cloth, white spirit etc!

Nothing seems to work and I am left with a fluffy mess of adhesive bits all over the ceiling!!

Help!

Try nail varnish remover, or you can buy sticky stuff remover that may work. Failing that I'd think you're going to have to scrape out that plaster in the affected areas and then Polyfilla it frown

Cheers, improvised a bit and used a stanley blade. Just gently pushed under it and pulled it off - very slow though!

Try a bit of heat,hair-drier works best as you can't over do it.
