Harewood Hillclimb Practice day 28.3.2010
Discussion
My first time at a hillclimb and i loved it! Those boys and girls are nuts. The speeds they reach on that tiny bit of tarmac is insane. Will be going to a proper meet some time in the future. I have seen some comments about hillclimbs and stuff so I just tried to show the location and the stunning setting in my shots. Wasnt really sure how to capture the atmosphere. I am to tired to do a full galley but one will be up sometime this week. There was also a Red Kite flying around that I have a shot or two of.
Landscape taken with Canon 40D and 17-70 and most of the others with the 100-400 bolted on (thank you Ziploc!)
Anyway,
1. Lotus Exige in the Paddock

2. Formula Ford in front of someones house!

3. The location

4. A stunning Brabham

5. Went like the proverbial off a shovel

6. This is the shots I like to get with the 100-400. In your face stylee. One of my favourites of the day.

7. Oops

8. Big enough tires?

9. Scenic

10. Go go go!

11. Watermark in poor place

12. Through the houses.

13. The red kite. Oversharpend I know, tried to hard to resuce it

C and C please,
Thanks,
Matt

Matt,
Harewood is only 15 mins from me and in the most stunning location. Did you enjoy the roads around there? I'd highly recommend getting to British Championship event at Harewood. As a motor racing spectacle, it is greater than Loton Park - faster and more challenging, although without the Red Kites. Again, a nice drive down there from the NW down the A41 and A49. Great photos anyway, always enjoy your contributions.

Edited to correct - meant Loton, not Harewood. Was very early in the morning...
