Sorry if this has been covered, I did search and couldn't find much.

Just how secure are patio doors? Are they easily 'put in' and then you're house is an open target, or are they pretty robust these days offering high levels of security? Would love to install some in my dining room, but don't want to reduce the security levels or make the house inviting as a target.

Opinions?

Years ago a gang used to go round my way with big suction handles and lift them out.

to be honest windows and doors if you know how to fit them then you know how to remove them.

Modern doors have really strong multi latch designs that are very secure. Older ones could usually be opened faster with a garden spade as a lever than with the correct key.

Yeah, too many tales of easy-opening. I need to make sure I keep the place secure enough to hold onto my FAC...
