f'ing Paint Pods
Discussion
Doing some painting this week, so picked up a well known brand of painting device from B&Q. what a pile of Garbage the first one failed after doing the bedroom ceiling and number 2 already seems to be struggling after doing a couple of walls. No wonder they're selling them for only £50 now.
Marketing Department trying to find problems to 'solve' - and ending up with over-priced bits of plastic that don't work but look good on the Trade Stand and give the reps something to shout about until Christmas. Plus the MM gets his photo in 'Paint Weekly' and a paragraph for his CV.
Cynical? You bet.

Bought one, wouldn't even suck paint up the tube, took it back.
Replacement had a faulty motor, took it back
Replacement sucked paint halfway up the tube then failed, took it back.
The store manager tried to accuse me of using it to paint a room then returning it for a refund, I "robustly" suggested he might like to reconsider accusing me of any such thing and give me a refund sharpish, which he did.

No need for a paint pod, I could beat anyone with a roller, bucket and 4in1 painting tool!

Probably just another "revolutionary" new product, typically released just before christmas, to cash in the guillable DIY market.
Like motorised tape measures.
I totally disagree, on my own a motorised tape is a hell of a lot easier than trying to use the little hook to hold on to the skirting and walk across the room. Sadly no satisfying rewind facility like with it's manual counterparts.Like motorised tape measures.

I bought one because I wanted to pull the bird from across the way. Didn't work.
Didn't she like being painted in Dulux matt sheen?Edited by Mutt on Tuesday 30th March 18:54
