Homebuilding and renovating show - any good?

I went to the Ideal Home show before... What a waste of time and this was the feeling of most people.
Anyone been to the renovating one and did you find it useful?

Depends what you're looking for.
If you're building a house, then it's more helpful.
If you're decorating or renovating, then less so.
Expect to see oak frames, rooflights, solar panels, ventilation systems, underfloor heating and folding doors (lots of 'em, they're popular at the moment). Not much in the way of kitchens and bathrooms. Some architectural product companies.
In general it tends towards the 'bespoke' and 'green' end of the market rather than the bog standard developer stuff. Some of the talks can be helpful if you're planning to go the self-build route and are still learning about it.

I went last Friday, was good, lots of ideas, but Tuna is right, folding doors were there in force, as were oak framed building companies. If you're building a house, then it's more helpful.

Can't think I saw many kitchens, maybe a few bathroom companies.
Worth a visit I suppose, if you're extending or something, i'd be tempted to say try the Grand Designs show?
