Treatment for new wooden gates

I've just had two garden gates delivered - which are made of redwood, and pressure treated.

I'm going to stain/varnish them, but what pre-treatment should I carry out before I do this?

Surely that would be just "treating"

No need to do anything as they will have been vac-vac treated which will give you a very good base for your stain.
