PS3 or Xbox

AS in the title really. I have a xbox which has got the rrod again so tell me about this PS3 thingy then. Is it better? Are games better? etc etc.

ETA: My advice is get what most your friends have. Gaming is made far better by playing with people you know. Or just PH people!

Personally I like the Playstations, I just cannot get used to the Xbox controllers, I bought and original xbox and couldn't get on with the controller so I have stuck with the PS3.

The only problem with the PS3 is the slight limitation on games although I do think that eventually that the PS3 will take over the xbox for games as it is simply more powerful!

As has been said many times just get what your mates have got. Both consoles have their good points and they both have issues. Personally everyone I know plays xbox so it's the right console for me.

Those original ones were awful, I was lucky to have the 'S' controllers, soo much nicer, but teh 360 controller is the best controller I've ever used, especially for driving games.

The 360 controller is designed for the western market, meaning it's suited to man sized hands. The PS3 controller is designed for the Japanese market, who I can only assume have the hands of a 12 year old girl.

Got to be PS3, I got an xbox last week an so far i find it a bit of a con, i wanted to go online and found out that if u want wirless u have to buy an additional wirless adapter for around 30-40 quid as if bill gates hasent got enough money allready, As were as the PS3 has it built in. But i do enjoy forza tho, but still a PS3 fan

I was new to console gaming this year I'm from the ZX81/Spectrum generation. Read the threads here and made the decision based on the simple recommendation from the PH's - i bought the one my friends have.

I had never experienced online gaming before and now its crystal clear to me that this aspect is the single, most important criteria. Oh, and buy MW2 as a first purchase.

Where is the con ? PS3 might have it built in, but I am pretty sure a PS3 costs a bit more than £30/40 over the price of an Xbox ?

I dont mind paying for the quality, xbox is just a rip. You have to pay to go online and to get it wireless an so on

You do have to pay and wireless does cost but the 360 online menu/user things on 360 are far superior to that of the PS3 (and that's coming from someone who is completely Sony loyal)

all i have ever had is sony, i only got an xbox for forza an i still prefer ps3 to xbox, dont get me wrong forza is good but to me sony have got the edge, i sopose its a matter of opinion
