Garage Security how to make it better.

Currently use Pacri locks ( 1st pic ) on the side of the garage door, and was thinking of adding the autolok stoppa ( 2nd pic ) i like it as it all looks subtle from the outside but should create a secure door.

has anyone used the autolok stoppa ? it looks plastic so i presume it could be cut with a hacksaw blade underneith the door ? or is it made from a stronger material.

just thought of a bad side to the stoppa, when the door is up you will have a big black thing hanging down and i bet you will always bang your head on it

I've used Autolok Stoppa - they're not bad quality - but yes, they are plastic - but quite tough and nice / neat on the outside. To a large extent you get what you pay for.
BTW: you won't bang your head - they turn horizontal out of the way when unlocked....

The autolok stoppa does look like something that a crowbar and an 8 year old ould be able to overcome. Is it really going to secure a garage against a half determined thief?

Don't think I could trust that autolok stoppa for more than 5 seconds. Remember a thief doesn't give a monkeys about breaking or bending something once they have decided to gain entry.

Block of wood wedged under door and it's broken. Sorry but that seems totally pointless and a waste of money IMO.

My garage doors are hooked up to the house alarm and fitted with those slide across bolt things. If anyone started to use a crow-bar to prise the doors open then the alarm would go off and the security lights come on. Seems safe enough to me.
