rear trailing arm bushes

Does anyone know where I can get some replacement rear trailing arm bushes for an S3? I've bought new front bushes from Superflex but they don't seem to have the rear ones (unless I'm being dense). I did find some on one website but at £37 each the price seemed a little bit high.

Also, I remember reading something on here about the advisibility or otherwise of using poly bushes at the rear, but I haven't been able to find the thread again. Should I be looking for rubber or poly bushes?

Pretty sure Poly bushes don't exist !

You either pay your money or talk to these people who can supply something very similar . . . . www.polymax.co.uk

you will need all the measurements, they are not "car people" so asking for TVR bushes won't mean anything.

I think you might be thinking of rear shock absorber bushes here as I remember reading that poly does work well on these and rubber was recommended for the lower ones at least due to the increased flexibility to deal with the alignment issue on compression... no doubt someone will come up with the correct terminology or shoot me down

Pete (GreenV8S) did state some scientific reason why the rears should be rubber not poly, but I can't remember what, I think it was because they need to be able to have some movement but I'm sure Pete will remind us.

I got mine from TVRCarparts. All four of mine were well past their best when I got them out.

Yep, mine too! I wasn't around when they came out but I've seen the results and they're not pretty. I'm going to order them from TVR car parts - after seeing them listed elsewhere for £37, the £22.50 they're asking looks like a bargain.

ketvrin - I think you're right, that is what I was thinking of. Something to do with Avo shocks I think.

I got their last 4 and they only make them in batches of 100, at £42 delivered for all 4 they were a real bargain. Mine are still sat in garage though awaiting the "job"

Despite the above, worth a ring to see if they have made more since January when I got mine details here

Ahh, too late. I ordered them from TVR car parts last night! Oh well, you live and learn.
