Aaargh, serves me right for trying to clean my car - it seems that a lack of weekday use has flattened the battery sufficiently to lock me out, though happily the alarm is still as defeaning as ever frown

Is anyone in Bournemouth free to pop round with some jump leads or a battery pack? And no, I don't have AA cover frown

Thanks in advance!!

I'd help, but its a bit far for me... I now have a battery pack which bailed me out a couple of weeks back as I have no access to power in the garage for a conditioner.

Cheers mate. I bought a jump start pack - not sure if it will work without the ignition though? I still seem very much on the outside!

May be going to Southbourne later this afternoon with a big battery attached to our Alfa. Post up if you are still stuck.

Well, it's not the battery, looks like it may be the immobiliser. I still can't get into the stupid thing, and of course, tomorrow being Sunday, I'm stuck until next week - not even sure if I need a locksmith or an alarm specialist. The lights flash when I oress the key fob, and the door locks try popping up but don't, and the key doesn't work in the door....grrrr!!!

Actually it may be your battery Had something similar with the Alfa when it had been standing for a while. Basically the battery was putting out too low a voltage plays havoc with the alarm electronics.

Tried it with 2 batteries - the original was giving out 12.7 Volts, plus the fact it started this morning suggests that it's not frown

Update - Lotus seem to think that it's the central locking unit that is FUBAR'd, so it's getting low-loaded off to Westover on Wednesday. Just in time to not be able to enjoy the first days of spring smile

Happy happy joy joy!
