Hi all,

The roof on the Spyder decided to stop half way down today. I released the pressure so that it dropped the rest of the way and then went to close it, it got to where it would normally lock into place but stopped again. I can't get it to move at all now. Basically does anyone know where the tool is to manually lock the roof into place? It isn't in the tool kit and I have been told it is hidden in the luggage compartment behind a flap. The only flap I can find is the one the battery is in.

I can't find my manual to see where it is as apparently it is mentioned in the emergency section.

All help much appreciated.

Liam,
My emergency wrench is in my tool kit ! sounds like yours is missing.
Anyway, have you tried the service mode with the roof i.e. hold both buttons down simultaniously for 10-15 seconds until the roof starts to operate.
If your main battery is low the roof will not function properly so if you can start the car up then try again this might help.

Tony.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the tip on the service mode, will give it a go this afternoon. Have to admit the battery was low and has been on charge over night.

All I have in my toolkit is a screwdriver, towing eye, spanner, 2 orange things and the all important gloves.

Well have now tried to put it in service mode but that didn't help either. Looks like it will have to be recovered.

Try starting the car and then operating the roof while the engine is running, if this doesn"t work then I think getting it recovered to a dealer will be your best bet.

Good Luck

Tony.

Tony is absolutely right. ONLY OPERATE THE ROOF WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. IF THE VOLTAGE DIPS BELOW 12V, THE ROOF SHUTS DOWN.

The car was running when I was doing the roof. I only know that the battery was low because when I went to put it back in the garage it didn't have enough charge to start the car.

I now have the tool to manually lock the roof in place. The problem I know have is that I still can't find my manual. Can anyone advise instructions on how to do it?

Thanks
Liam

Had a quick look in my manual and it isn't exactly straightforward with over 10 pages devoted to it..sure you can't find your manual?

Nope I can't find it. I have literally just been sat in the car with the tools trying to figure it out. I have managed to lock the front down now but not the back. Is it possible to lock the back bits in or only the front?

Just been told that you can't lock the back fins in place so now just to get it to a dealer.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you've got the rest of it done then? It is possible to lock down the fins, but you need the "COnvertible top fin locking tool" which should be in the tool kit. Once you've pushed them down as far as they will go the manual says "From inside the passenger compartment, position the pin in the hole on the convertible top fin control piston and lever until it is locked in position". There's a pic of the locking tool that shows pin 1, but not of where it goes on the car so it doesn't look like much help. After that you just re-lock the hydraulic system behind the left seat.

I've only got the front locked in and not the fins. When I ordered the parts from Lamborghini they said I needed 2 tools to do it, neither of which were in the tool kit which isn't great considering i've had the car from new. The other tool that arrived is a black one that does look like it would do what you said for pulling the fins down. When I booked the car in yesterday they did ask if I had checked to see if the roof worked again now that the front is locked in but I haven't checked. It isn't going in until the 6th so I may see if the roof works again and if not see if I can figure out how to do the fins.
