Wiping my (gl)ass
Discussion
At relatively low speeds(ah-hem!) in the rain my windscreen wipers don't make contact with the glass due to pressure of air being forced under them - which can make motorway driving 'interesting'
I remember reading somewhere (maybe here some time ago) that theres a Bosch wiper with a 'wing' that'll help keep the wiper blade in contact with the glass. Does anyone know the relevant model/reference number ?
Thanks!

I posted the same question a while ago - see thread -

my nearside wiper always makes a squeak when going down no matter how wet the windscreen is,any ideas how to stop this?
Remove the poor mouse?
No, seriously - I would advocate the Rain-X approach.
Also - a tip for getting the screen "squeaky" clean to start with.
If you don't already, one of the best ways to get a screen really clean is to use a weak solution of either vinegar or lemon juice. Obviously the mild acid will cut through the greasy deposits.
Apply it with, and remove it with, an old newspaper. Newsprint is also very good on glass. Polish it off with the Driving supplement from the Sunday Times and you'll know Jeremy's been really useful for you that week!
Works for me every time!
Rain-X is the answer, when you study the curves on most TVR windscreens the return movement of the blade always seems to be travelling on a relatively dry screen, "as the majority of us, only use our cars in fine weather" and are often caught out by either light showers or drizzle etc, our wiper systems are very seldom ever used. Wrap anyting in cotton wool and you will increase the likleyhood of breaking it when you unwrap it.
Twice I have travelled to and from Scotland with no wipers, "both times, broken linkages" once in the Griff, and the other in the Tuscan with the only comfort of Rain-X in my boot.
My experience with the Griff was @470 miles of light drizzle, which was no problem whilst travelling at any sort of speed, but there was a problem when sitting in any traffic hold ups, the screen would be a little fuzzy until there was enough moisture on the screen which would then disappear like a waterfall and therefore leave you with a clear screen.
highly recomended,
James.
