Brake lights staying on in S2 (Rover Engined) Elise

Hi all,

Need some advice on a problem I've just encountered with my elise. The brake lights stay on constantly but if I pull back the brake pedal the light switches off again. Anyone got any ideas?

From looking on the web it would appear that it is the switch used for the pedal that would require adjusting... how do I access this?

Yep,sounds like the switch-stick your head in the footwell and you'll see it(theres a technique to it which involves going head first upside down)

I'll have a try at doing that - good thing i'm not over 6 foot!

Do i need to adjust it in any particular way?

Mate with one sorted it by reaching in above the brake reservoir. Turn it half a turn to unlock it, pull it in or out to suit, turn back half turn to lock

Had a look under, under the wheel and couldn't see anything to adjust. Does anybody have any pics of what this thing looks like under the steering wheel? And also if I need any tools?

You wont find it under the steering wheel, it's ouside under the louvred panel

Ah I see! Cool I'll try taking that off and see if I can get in at it through there. Thanks for your advice
