Fresh air hoses

Just got the car back from the garage with new water pump and slave cylinder installed. Opened the bonnet to check the levels and 'crack!' the flexible fresh air intake hose parted company.

Had a quick search but I cant find anyone who has something the same size.

Anyone know of a source?

(Taped it back together but as I pulled the end up the intake scoop pulled off the inside of the bonnet. This weekend I shall be mostly...)

Used some 2" industrial vacuum cleaner hose, cut existing hoses off where they enter body and this stuff was a perfect "screw in" fit.

At the bonnet end i used what they call "end cuffs", these are the fittings that go on the end of the hose that in normal use would attach to the wand or whatever tool. these again were a perfect fit over the spigots on the bonnet.

Can put photo on over weekend if any help.

I have tried a few different alternatives and none of them seem to be as strong as the original stuff and have all split ... Grrrr...

Does anyone have any ideas on how to put some kind of filter in the fresh air hoses so that my car doesn't get full of crap and dead flies, I thought of just using some foam but I think that it may reduce the airflow quite a bit ?

What about some fine foam, like an air filter which is simply held in place with a cable tie about the hose? Not elegant but will probably do the trick...

Unfortunately you are in France, but I have about 5 metres of replacement equivalent. They use a much more flexible and strong version in helicopters and when I bought my car I had a massive supply of the stuff as the previous owner was a helicopter pilot (as were the 3 before him). If you are ever in the UK (South West) then give me a shout, but to post it would not be cost effective as it is large and quite heavy (about twice the weight of the original due to the strengthening).

Same offer goes to anyone else who might need some as mine is all new in the car

looks about the right sort of stuff, must get round to getting some myself' just got some short stubbss that draw in direct from the engine bay! Erm very fresh.

Thanks all for the comments. Currently checking out some industrial vacuum cleaner hose that looks like it might do the job.

ps: It is snowing like a bd in the South of France right now. The drive home could be interesting....
