Paint Codes Paint Chips

I have been trying for some time to get some touch up paint but nobody has, until now, been able to match my Magenta paint from the code on the VIN plate. I tried Halfords and a number of paint specialists exibiting at various shows.
At the Classic Car Show last November I saw these people, Chipex http://www.chipex.co.uk/ and spoke to Jonny Graham. He said 'no problem of course we can match your colour', I thought 'Ho hum been here before'.
I gave him the paint code from the VIN plate and while it wasnt straight forward, his Technical Director was able to establish the correct formulation.
Just tried it yesterday on the first of the stone chips and lo and behold an exact match. I'm very pleased. So i think thid is/can be a good option if you are having trouble in matching you paint.
Usual caveats I'm not involved etc
