Do you guys in the UK get this?

We have 'The Food Network' on our sat tv and you get some incredible cooking going on. Some of the ingredients they use are obscene!

Last one that was on was Jamie Oliver going against some Italian bloke (numerous michelin winner). He lost, only just, but was interesting to see him step out of his TV/School Dinners persona and do some top notch high cuisine.

have you seen the Japanese original? utter genius.

the best one was seeing the Chinese chef's face when the star ingredient was....yoghurt.

Some of the Star Ingredients have been bizarre - I'd love to see the original version as well.

Another show that is great is 'Chopped' - they have a mystery basket for each course and that can be a bit odd as well - Last one for starters was shoulder of beef (super tough with only 20mins time limit), pureed pumpkin and Numpla (fish sauce).

I was really surprised that no one went for a warm Thai beef salad, as I would have, but there were some disasters.

The American version is shown on the food network in the uk; personally I prefer it to the original (and I'm a japanophile)

the uk version is curently being filmed in Glasgow for C4 where it will be shown daily with a much different and shorter format to the previous versions. It is supposed to start airing in April this year.

I tried to acquire the rights for the UK, I think it is a great program!

PS I disagree about jamie Oliver - I thought his food looked quite amateurish compared to what they normally make on there

One of my favourite shows on TV...I agree with you about JO, especially when morimoto turns out something like this sushi for "battle asparagus"

Get the Japanese one on freeview here in Aus. Always work a look if I have spare hour on a Saturday evening.

The original was great. I love how they use a lot of fresh, meaning live ingredients, and they always show the final blow!

Where can I buy 'Millet Jelly'?????
