Roof ventilation - 'vermin protection'
Discussion
right, another roof question. i will probably come back to the roof angle thing in the future with photos.
in terms of roof ventilation.
my property has no loft space. the bottom of the roof is the ceiling if you see what i mean. it's concrete marley tiles with polystyrene blocks underneath and then marine ply under that(!). assuming we don;t do anything mental like take the roof off and go up a storey we want to take the insulation out and put ubermodern ace stuff in and then plasterboard (or some other solution that makes getting to the wiring easier).
BUT as you may have read elsewhere we've had things going in the roof. i thought it was squirrels or (worse rats) but it seems to be some sort of field mouse and because of the plywood it's tap dancing on it makes a racket.
now where it's getting in is the gap at the end of the roof that;s there for ventilation. at present they have some sort of chickenwire like guard which is clearly usles for small animals. in the last edition (2005) there is some sort of plastic coated metal sheet with small holes pressed in it for the ventilation. A) what is this called if i want to buy more of it? B) any other solutions?

that isn;t what i was thinking but is quite possibly what i will now buy - thank you very much for this....the hardest thing with any sort of project be it a car a computer or a house is knowing what the ruddy hell to search for!
it took ages to find out that if you want a poker, brush and pan thing for the fire that you have to look for 'companion sets'..!
