Mk1 Focus RS - how can the values still be staying up?
Discussion
Has anyone else had a look in the classifieds at the focus RS bit?
there are gazillions of RSeseses in there.for a long time there were never that many and what ones there were were advertised on PH. but clearly the owners are getting itchy feet or something.
I just can;t see the supply:demand being enough to sustain the c£11-12k pricing...

People don't want to sell and RS Fords have a cult following keeping prices high on any RS model. If they had made a fiesta RS or a Mondeo RS then prices may have sank a little more but it is (or at least was at the time) the spritual successor to the ES Cos.
..but the point is they do now appear to want to sell. certainly a lot more advertised than in the past. probably more than at any time since they wer sold new (and the speculators/short term holders/disenfranchised were re-selling them). Also, the FRS is a truly stonking little motorcar. I've yet to own a car that is as quick down a twisty and bumpy b-road; that includes the GT3.
Ignore all the guff about torque-steer, the mk I Focus RS is a proper drivers tool and worthy of the RS name. The mk II by comparison is far less special.

can you really compare the two considering the R26 came out 3/4 years after?it's more 'special' than an r26. but it's not really as good...
despite which, the RS halo does still hold cachet value to enthusiasts even if the wider public don't give a stuff

i think so given that effectively they're both 'optimised' slipperydiff'd front drive family 3 dr hatches. i think they're near enough to use the megane to question the value of the RS.
I may not have made myself entirely clearI think the comparable would be the R26 F1 whch is pretty evenly matched on pricing
