Under 25 car insurance that allows driving of other cars?
Discussion
Hi. Im looking for an insurance policy that allows me to drive other vehicles with the owners permission and still be covered 3rd party.
Im 23 at the moment. Im unable to find a policy which allows me to drive other cars and it seems to be a trend with all insurance companys. Why is this the case? Can anyone recommend a company that is likely to insure me in this way.
Thanks.
Tom

Its really frustrating. Im trying to start my own business and this is really throwing a spanner in the works. Ive got a clean licence of 6 years and 6 years NCB and i still cant find anyone who will cover me 3rd party.
What sort of business? Is a Trade policy not an option?
I'm making some assumptions here but I see 2 problems:
1) Most insurance only covers you for commuting not driving for business,
2) where are you going to find clients that are happy to let you drive their cars with only third party cover? I wouldn't be very happy knowing that I wouldn't get anything back if you crashed the car!

Quinn direct used to allow it for under 25's, not sure if they still do though
They don't, stopped it not long ago sadly.Wayne King said:

I had it with Bell since I was 19 but they said this year its 25 and over now. A bit annoying, otherwise I would have driven a GTR by now LOL.
And that is why most companies have put the age up to 25!I used Bell insurance from the ages of 19 to 22 (I'm 23 now) for various cars and each policy I had gave me an optional extra of use of other cars on a third party basis only. The price of it depends on what car you are currently driving and the mileage etc. I think but it cost me between £25-£40 extra a year. I added it in case of emergencies and proved very useful as I had to use several cars throughout the year for different things. Let me know if they still do it.
