Coolant Level

I've had my 4lt Chimaera(my first) for a few weeks now and I still can't decide if the coolant level is supposed to be halfway up the expansion bottle. I try to keep it at this level and it keeps disappearing! Is this right?

I've had my Chim for about 8 weeks. The coolant level has never moved from half way up the expansion tank. I drive it every day. Edited by macca on Saturday 3rd March 07:44

Preso: You may have air in the system. Remove the blue cap on the expansion tank & run the engine till warm. Keep watching inside the tank & see if bubbles appear. That should do a good job of bleeding it too. Of course it may not be a good idea to keep your face by the expansion tank when the engine is warm Try to keep the level to about 1/2 way. If there's too much in there, it'll just get spat out at the most embarrasing time Edited by RobM on Saturday 3rd March 12:09
