What a really lovely bunch of enthusiasts you are.
I never posted here before and didn't think about joining as I don't own a TVR and considering I'm in my first year of self-employment (I still gulp everyday) it's going to be a while before I do...
Anyway, back to my point.
You're a really lovely bunch. I've been a member of 1 or 2 other car forums but have been dissapointed by the amount of bickering and general nastyness generated by different members.
But here it's different. You've got something special. I don't know if this says something about TVR owners in general and to be honest in the past would have laughed at such a generalisation. But now, well I think there's something in it.
I know for sure that henceforth when I see a TVR on the road not only will I think there goes a special car, but I'll also take a look at the driver and mentally wish them my best.
If you don't mind I'll hang around here for a while and hopefully I'll be an owner as well one day.

Well, what a nice intro.
Hope you do get your dream car. whether you think you can or you can't achieve your goal, youre probably right. Keep focused on your TVR, get all the pictures and see them everyday. I did this for some 6 years (working for someone else)and after starting my own business achieved my goal in 2 years. Andy, noticed your a Plymouth boy..The regions car club get together on a regular basis and you dont have to own a tvr. Your welcome to come along and join the fun. You may even get taken out for a spin or two. We are out this weekend meeting at Endsleigh Garden Centre at 10.30am Sunday 15th Feb for a cruise around Plymouth then on to the Halfway House in the Glynn Valley(near Trago Mills).Cheers zz...

Actually, I drive a Porsche but the truth is that I still love TVR's and the sheer unbridled enthusiasm people have for them is really great.

Some Porsche owners own their car cos' of the name. They could just as easily change it for an Audi. TVR lovers are far more committed I think..

I still look at a T350 or a Typhon and think, mmmmmm

And the people on this forum are one of the selling points. Sooner or later, I know I'll eventually get one !

I dont have a TVR (yet) either.
In fact your work van may even show up my car!

It may be a bit of a long way but there is a PH meet on 22FEB at Virginia Waters (or "VW").
Details are in the events forum.

At the last VW there were over 100 members/cars there.
Apart from BTaP and PistonFest its probably the best event to meet lots of PHers.

(BTaP = Black Tie and Pie, just prior to Xmas)
(PistonFest = The Summer party, July 2nd 2004)

Hi and welcome.

You will also find that not everyone is a TVR owner (or wannabe)there are also forums for other cars. You will find some people just check the marque forum and general chat sections, but I lurk everywhere and occasionally post, have found them all interesting and informative.

Everyone is welcome as long as they are interested. You will find some very knowledgable people around so if you have a query on anything you will get a comment from one of this lot. (sometimes not the sort you want - always amusing though).

Try to get to a meet, I found (before I got my Griff)that everyone was very keen to show me their cars (even if it was to prove that I should buy something other than a Griff ). Which has meant that I am also happy to show people my car and prove what a wonderful thing it is. (you see positive things really do get passed on ).

Anyway I will shut up now. Read/Post and enjoy and get booked for Pistonfest that will be a real education.
