Thought id post a few pics up of my mates race car project, its being built a track car with quite a huge spec list
the build only started a few weeks ago and theres been alot of welding! car was bought for £300 from a scrap yard.
will be ran with the standard 1600cvh engine for a year or so but then its getting a focus RS engine making about 280bhp
any way heres a few pics of the car so far
Roll Cage
Willwood pedal box
taking a trip up to demon tweeks in a few weeks to pick up the drivers seat, steering wheel, braided brake lines to run throughout the car and a fair few other bits and pieces!
the other cars he's got in the unit at the minute
He's a Cosworth, and ford zetec speicialist specialist, but is now very expericienced with mitsi Evo's
he also rebuilds gearboxes and does alot of development work with new parts.

having had all my gear nicked a few years ago, i'd be pretty pissed off if it was my stuff !
is that not the same as every garage in the country though?? its on a small business park where theres plenty of people during the day with CCTV for extra security and each unit it securely locked and alarmed.having had all my gear nicked a few years ago, i'd be pretty pissed off if it was my stuff !
cheers for the comments guys, the car needs to start making big progress as we wanted to have it semi ready for the fast show at santa pod just to do a few shake down runs on the strip, but with that being only a month away its looking less likely, but where theres a will theres a way!!
should hopefully have some big updates and few more pics for you tho over the coming weeks!
Thought it was time i updated this build... the car was put to one side for abit while he spent time getting his business up and running, now he's got abit more time on his hands weve been able to get back on with the build...
The car was in a such a poor state when we got it but after alot of welding the shell is now solid and all the rust has been treated,
The roll cage is now welded in, just need to sort the door bars out but waiting on the seats to turn up before we do that, the pedal box was fitted and so far the clucth and accelerator is now working, again waiting of parts before the brakes get sorted out.
oh and the best bit, the cars new engine, a 2.0L Zetec Turbo capable of 400+Bhp which was taken from this car..
All being well the engine will be fitted in the next month or so and then its off to the bodyshop, Car is going to be gloss black and lime green... Kind of like the Ford Monster WRC cars!
