MW2 - Best games to gain XP

Stupidly..........and after ignoring all the advice on here I have gone 'prestige' and I regret it

My question is what online game modes are best to gain XP quickly?

I was playing Demolition while on level 70 and was getting around 10-15,000 XP points per game and after a while it got boring so I stupidly thought that I would quickly be able to level-up playing that game mode if I prestige.

However, going back to level 1 with a pea-shooter and getting 4 kills (with 38 deaths) I have realised how difficult it is

So, what game modes would you suggest to quickly level up again?

I'd say level up in Hardcore where your "Peashooter" actually does more than tickle...

Yep Objective games tend to be best. Or search and destroy if you are prepared to take the time to learn what do to, 550xp a kill. But in Demo you can get match bonuses of 3500+

Does the XP change according to your level?

What I mean is, if I am level 70 and I get 20 kills etc, would the XP differ if I am level 5 and get the same kills?

It certainly seems to, I was getting 200xp match bonus at low level on demolition. At around L20 it seems to level out and i'm back at 5-10k for demolition.

Although last night I got 44500k xp on one match and leveled up twice I shot someone through a wall, which gave me my final shot needed to finish fmj, which was the final challenge to get master, which was also the kill that took me to 500 kills and as i'm prestiging I got the first prestige veteran challenge too! I think it worked out at 31000xp on one shot

Yes. It goes up as you go through the levels.

Cheers for the replies guys, you are right, the higher your level, the more XP points you get for match bonus.

Played for an hour or so last night and i'm pleased with how quick i'm leveling up, already at level 11 and got my beloved SCAR a couple of levels before that, I cant wait to unlock the Cold-Blooded perk again, I am fed up with being cannon fodder for everyone else

That's the point of prestige, to show you can get the kills without all the best toys, I've enjoyed it as it forces you to adapt your game.

Indeed, I started my 4th prestige yesterday. And I've found that before you unlock the attachments for the FAMAS and SCAR, it turns out that some of the default classes are not too bad! First Recon, and Grenadier are the best ones IMO. Quite handy to use until you unlock the red-dot/grenade launcher on the FAMAS then not long before the SCAR which is the best gun in the game IMO. (Well, that or the M16 which only comes much later - so the SCAR is better imo as you get it earlier so can get more use out of it.)

I had the day off yesterday and went from level 67 to prestige and back up to level 23! Mostly playing demolition. Had several games of 30-40k XP.

Here's my TIP: When trying to level up a gun, play demolition or ground war. Reason being that although kills are only 50XP on demolition it's actually 'number of kills' which unlocks the attachments. Plus in a long game you're more likely to achieve killstreaks etc. I easily get more than twice as many kills on groundwar and demolition than I do on team deathmatch - which more than makes up for the fact it's only 50xp, not 100xp. (Plus you hit challenges faster.)

Also, when trying to level up, don't forget that kills score xp and challenges etc - but there's no negative impact from deaths. (Other than you might not win the game and your global K/D goes down.) So what I reckon is a good technique is to get stuck in and run round like a loon, rather than sit back and snipe - reason being that 15 kills and 15 deaths scores more XP than 5 kills and zero deaths, if you see what I mean.

Seananners is without doubt best. I like Hutch but he has gone off to Machinima now. ONLYUSEmeBLADE is good. There are a fair few good commentators now. Tejbz, BlameTruth, Synwyn (EssinDees).

I do like him but his "catchphrase" becomes rather annoying. His gameplay is really good and never tends to camp. TheMOODIESwede is another good one who is a bit of a beast with a .50 Cal.
