Hi, I have a quick question. I beleive someone on here has fitted these manual seats to their S and I have the opportunity to get a set of manual ones. My question is, is it a case of out with the old and in with the new with no fabrication?

Yes, Chris has fitted Jag seats, IIRC the leather colour is an exact match too.

There is a little work required - the holes in the floor don't line up (so you need to drill new / block the old) and they are a bit of a tight fit so you do have to get them in just the right place.

Other than that not hugely difficult.

Hi Steve,I am new to this forum, so first off hello to everybody. I have been reading everybodies posts with great interest, and have nearly finished a full body off refurbishment thanks to all the help from this forum.

I have just done this conversion and its fairly simple. The existing seat rails in my S3C had mounting holes 33cm centre to centre front to rear and left to right.

The XJS seats rails are 33cm front to rear and 42cm left to right. To ensure you can use the existing floor holes you need to make a simple conversion mounting. I did this with a few lenghts of 5mm thick steel bar.
