I've had a look in the PH classifields but can't find anything similar as a comparison. Can any of you give me a rough idea of the value either as a private or P/x sale.

Tuscan 4.0 Red Rose - 2000 (X)
~28k miles
FTVRSH (at the factory)
Full Hide & Aircon
6 month TVR Warranty
I'm the second owner.
Crystal Topaz Pearlescent Paint.

The engine has been 'given the treatment' at the factory in May of this year.

Thanks

I think if you really want to sell it you'd have to put it up for £24,000 which I'm sure hurts... a lot.

From what I can see, similar spec standard 4.0 cars with less miles could be had for 22ish, allowing for the fact its a red rose & hoping you find someone who is an enthusiast and willing to pay a premium is how I come to 24. I really dont think cars are selling well at the moment.

I'm no expert though, best of luck, it looks like a lovely car.

No, I'm not thinking about selling it, I was interested in finding out how much it is costing me in terms of depreciation and erm 'running costs'. (Tsk, anyone would think I was a Bank Manager ) I think my 'TVR' monthly savings fund may need a little increase though

I think now that the clutch is fixed it will be a 'sorted' car. The engine has been updated, I've had the high speed wind noise sorted (new windscreen),it has new tyres, new battery, new indicator relay, speedo sensor and has just had its 30k service. I know its full history as the previous owner is also on PH.

I think I'd be a fool to sell it now, I'm just getting to the good bit!

Tempting fate or what

Aw, a Crystal Topaz - all sorted? Are you sure, you're sure, you're sure, you're sure you don't want to sell it..........

(I'd give you what I could get for the Griff and throw in an extra tuppence ha'penny!!!)

Not tempting fate here are you, or did you mean last year?

I would guess that at £24k it would be sold, a dealer would put it up at nearer £28k, so depends what value you want - if you want to feel good now go for £28k, if you want the next year or two to work out cheaper call it £24k

Sorry I can't see any 2000 Tuscan, Red Rose or not, getting anything like £24K as a private cash sale - more like £20K in the real world IMO.

Hi Jo,
What's it worth? as you know, it's only worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, or how desperate you need the money? I know what I paid for mine, and even now wouldn't sell it for any less than that, my missus will have to find some high heels and a corner somewhere, if it got that bad, and the car had to go, I somehow don't think I could sell myself and save the day, so someone's got to do it.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Just to clarify, I'm not selling! I wanted to get a feel for the level of depreciation and overall running costs. I'm sure I'll sell this one in the next 12ish months and replace it with another TVR. I just need to work out how much I need to save in order to afford a replacement.

Hmmm, £20K you say, if you see one advertised at that price let me know.

I was just waiting for Jinx to join in the thread at some point. (Hi Jigs ). He is compelled to comment on Tuscan values.

If you can buy a good Tuscan for £20K, then I'd start my own business buying them up and selling them on making a hefty mark up. Its as realistic as someone valuing a 12 year ol Griff at £17K . (Oh, but that would be a "classic" car".

£22K should see if shift quickly.

Warranty if its factory works heavily in your favour...

The only flaw is lack of supply of good cars at that kind of money. But I enjoy negotiations .

Can we trade from you driveway, I believe its huge?

Well I've got a Crystal Topaz Tuscan we can start with, it's going for a song!

What do you think of Kerbside Motors as a trading name?

Sounds good to me! (But you're not seriously wanting to sell it are you?!).

Perhaps we should just specialise in Crystal Topaz Tuscans only, it could be our niche market. .

Morning Jo

If swapping in 12 months or so, would you get another Tuscan - prob an S or order a T400/440? Or could you upgrade your present car with nitrons, and I believe TVR power are bringing out S6 upgrades in the summer - which would make one mean mother as yours is v. fast already.

I have been thinking about keeping mine and upgrading it further, decisons, decisions, ....

MOD.
