Insurance premium difference
Discussion
Have recently sold my 4.5 Cerbie and am looking to move to a Tuscn RR/S (depending onhow flush I feel next month) and thought that I'd just check the insurance premiums with Mannings. My Cerbie would have been renewed at about £650 fully comp. 5000 miles etc but a Tuscan, similar value etc will cost me £950!!!!
Apart from the obvious trawling around getting quotes feel that 50% Additional Premium above the Cerbie is alot of money for a car with similar performance.
Are people crashing their Tuscans regularly or something??? because cannot otherwise see why this is. Even a T350C was cheaper to insure.

nail on the head here - loads of people I have spoken to about insurance on a tuscan report that the insurers complain on masses of claims on this particular model. Hence high premiums.

Jurdy. Try Tesco's. They were the best for me and I have a Tuscan RR. They were £175 cheaper than A Manning with no increase for milage. Even if you state 5k or 10k per annum the premium stays the same. You dont get track cover though.

Seems to be more people who lose the back end and hit things (like other cars, walls, trees etc) - not sure why the Tuscan is more prone to this, maybe it is just the first TVR to appeal to none TVR people or something? Either way, it is getting expensive to insure, so could you all please be extra careful and try not to make a claim so that next year I don't need to sell a kidney
