Surface and Design respray (pics)

Don't post on here that often but wanted to share this....
Picked my car up from Surface and Design in Blackpool on Saturday- i've had a respray and some interior work done by the guys at D and C Trim....
The car was originally sprayed in Maserati Midnight Blue but after 9 years it was looking tired- i decided to change the colour slightly, so Andrew at S and D (who incidentally is one of the most helpful and obliging blokes i've ever met) spent a bit of time with me looking at colour charts. I ended up plumping for a similar dark blue but with a small amount of spectraflair content- a good choice if you want something different but want to keep the costs down. The result is better than i could have ever imagined- in normal light the car looks dark blue metallic with subtle spectraflair coming through but when the light catches it the whole rainbow effect comes out. The new carpets from D and C also look superb- the work they churn out when being given enough time to do the job properly is amazing.
I've tried to capture it in some pics taken in the garage (because of the rain)- you can get the idea but without seeing it in direct sunlight it's hard to appreciate fully.
From start to finish i've been massively impressed with the way these guys operate and the outcome has far exceeded my expectations. If you want a respray or any body work, no matter how far you are from Blackpool, pay them a visit. The two businesses also compliment each other very well- quality of work + professionalism from both S&D/D&C mean you'll walk away as happy as i did.

Hi Dean..No Armourfend as yet- deciding whether to stick it on or not. I know common sense says yes but on the Chim and with the old paintwork it ended up just as chipped as the paint would.
Thoughts? Know anyone that has left it off altogether?

ks. Armourfend/Paintshield was on my list of things to do but unfortunately it didn`t happen and I wish I had done, a few too many chips have already appeared 
Nice colour, I'd like to see it in natural light. Suprised you didn't opt for a hinged bonnet at the same time.
S&D did a front end respray on mine, and a few weeks later allowed Paintshield to use their spray booth (because it was warm and clean) to apply their film. You need to leave time for the paint to cure/harden.
Very pleased with Paintshield well worth it, but do it before you get any chips.
As you say Andy,Dave,Malcolm and the quiet one(whose name escapes me at the moment) are great lads....Just wish Andy would hurry up with my carbon fibre panel over my heater boxes

Thanks for the comments- when it stops raining/snowing/sleeting/hailing etc and the sun comes out, i will take some photos in natural light and post them up here.
Does anyone happen to know what Paintshield costs for the Tuscan, and whether it leaves the same 'awkward' line across the bonnet that everyone not in the know thinks is a scratch?

Mine cost £748 for inspection bonnet,front quarter of wings, splitters and front grill on a MK2. They can now do the whole inspection bonnet in one piece, so no nasty curved line, line on the wings but hardly visible. I've got a voucher that will give you 10% off if you go ahead (I get a present from them aswell )... got to be used by 1st May 2010.
Just looked I've got 2 vouchers and each one get 2 people 10% off... so that's 4 people can have 10% off... and I get 4 presents

They will go to site...just need somewhere with the correct conditions... your own garage is a possibility,provided its warm and clean. It was March when mine was done so a couldn't guarentee conditions...have a chat to the lady there, she's the wife of the owner and was very helpful.
