Yeah been looking forward to this. Spent way to much time on the other final fantasys
Ill get a few beers in and get on that for the weekend when its out, oh and kick the missis out
I keep hearing that its not going to be so great and this n that but id rather see for myself, shame its not a ps3 exclusive either

I always think that Final Fantasy games aren't that good until I actually buy them.
The first 2-3 hours are normally awful. But after that I can never put them down. Lost countless hours/days of my life to 7/8/9/10 and 12. Always wanting at least 3 of the best weapons and summons etc. Have complete saves for 7/9 and 12

Yep,
I bought a PS2 just to play FFXII, and then sold it again straight afterwards, it's going to be amazing, 4 DVDs apparently.
It is upsetting it comes out the same time as BFBC2, but I suppose one is multiplayer and one is singleplayer, just to cover all aspects of your time.
It's been 3 years since the last one (almost to the day, February 23, 2007), amazing times ahead.

In which you had to go find a chest in those bat caves things.
There was a 1/40 chance it was there.
Then a 1/100 chance it wouldn't be empty.
then a 1/100 chance of that something not being a potion or whatever - but to actually be a Zodiac Spear.
God I spent weeks, every sunday with a hangover when I couldn't be bothered to do anything else, just going to that chest. AAAAAAAARRRRRRGHHHHH

From Wikipedia (as pointed out by my PS3 owning mate)...."In an interview in Famitsu, Square Enix says the audio and video in Final Fantasy XIII will be compressed in multiple DVDs in the 360 version while the PS3 version will be uncompressed and be on one Blu-ray Disc"

this is the problem with the FF games. i played 7, and fiddled with 8 a bit, and sure, i've spent days playing COD and other such, but i know if i get FF13, it will consume my life...

It doesn't have to. The only one I have really got into is 7. I think I played 12 for about 40 hours (and finished it)maybe...

Based on your comment and the one re: bluray below I'm definitely going to be getting it on the PS3 - it seems proper as well, considering the PS was the platform that FFVII (the one that took it to the next level) was on.
