How to dismantle mx5 mirrors?

Got a pair of mk1 mx5 mirrors but need to respray them.
How do you dismantle them

You need to get the mirror glass out first. The glass is held in place by the 'edge' of the mirror clipped or glued on.
Take the edging off, the glass comes out & you should be then able to remove all the bolts, etc. at the base of the mirror.

I'll try and post photos of my dismantled ones later tonight for you - they should make my explanation easier to follow.

Here you go...



The RED arrow indicates the 'clip on' surround that holds the mirror glass in place (this is usually glues in place) & the BLUE arrow indicates the foam that the mirror glass sits on inside the case.

The hole at the bottom left of the casing is where all the 'swivel bolts' go through to adjust the angle of the mirror.
