Tyre fitters - in West Yorkshire
Discussion
I need to get a couple of new tyres and have found an attractive deal on the internet for Toyo Proxes - the tyres delivered to the house.
Problem is, who to get to fit them. Big chains like K**K F*t and N*t**n*l are all well and good, but hardly like to fit tyres that they have not sold themselves.
So..what to do, and can anyone recommend a good place in West Yorks that will not wreck my alloys and be happy enough to change tyres over when they are not making money on the tyres themselves?
Thanks

My mates at the race team are having a complete set of tyre fitting equipment fitted later this month, and will be able to fit tyres onto your wheels. As soon as its in, I'll let you know rates. Oh, and they will be careful, Wol's tyres are likely to be the first! they're in Ruddington, just south of Nottingham.

Many thanks to everyone for posting suggestions. I need to make my mind up between Toyos and Bridgestones (Toyos alot cheaper - but I currently have Bridgestones and one tyre in particular is worn and needs replacing). Question is to buy one matching tyre - or get 2 Toyos for the driving wheels.
Sorry to mislead you that this is for a TVR. The Tuscan is safely ensconced in the garage with a set of 4 nice Toyos at the moment. This is for my Saab which is running 215/50 ZR 17 Bridgestone SO1s at the moment. Toyos are £90 each, Bridgestone £138 !! I feel happier in getting recommendations as I don't want the rims buckled by a 16 year old spanner monkey IYKWIM.
Thanks once again,
Bryan

Moss tyres in Sandbeck Park, Wetherby will also do this. They were fine with the TVR 17 inchers and M5 18 inch alloys. They fit my secondhand slicks and new internet purchased tyres regularly. 01937 582427

I did some ringing round my local tyre places to see if they would fit them. The first question was what tyres are they?
Bridgestone Blizzak lm-18 or Pirelli Winsports.
KF and NT said, you can't get them in this country (
) but we do P6000, £62 fitted. I HAVE P6000 AND DON'T NEED FECKING NEW ONES
Found a place though, I sort of knew they would do it anyway, the Head Mecahnic lives about 5 doors down from me (drives a Triumph 2000), but just wanted some quote, they will fot for £20
Not must use to you though

Bit late on this thread, I've just phoned Moss and made an appointment for Saturday, they said to say Hello to you! Thanks for the recommendation BTW.

Pellon Tyres (0800 731 0965) in Halifax are Toyo dealers and did a good fitting job on mine. 2X225/50 V15 were 100 quid each fitted.
Thanks for this recommendation. I went to Pellon Tyres, got my order in and was greeted by exceedingly good value and service. Astonished really.
So well done Pellon Tyres, and thanks to Eric there who did me a great deal on new tyres and allignment.

Thanks on both counts Mark! Looks like you have a gleaming wedge there too.
Its always good to get a recommendation for things like tyres. The number of times I have taken a car into get new ones, then I sit there cringing as the monkies crawl over it. Last time I went into a national chain, one of them managed to put a dent in the back door with the handle of a trolley jack....it was a company car...that I had collected 15 mins earlier from a bodyshop, who had just sorted out some damage to the back end. 'Here we go again' I thought.
Thanks again, and maybe we'll meet up on a fine spring day for a bit of a hoon since you are a stones throw away.

A pleasure. Hope it went OK.
I just think it is important to support those folks, themselves enthusiasts, who will do something outside their "big company" brief.
