Does anyone have any idea how many of these were made, iam currently trying to find one with fairly low milage but it seems they are very hard to come by. There was one in the classifieds in red with lowish milage a month back but typically I didnt need a new car then.

Very few. It was a long time before I found mine (estate), but, after 75,000 miles and 6 years ownership, I can say from experience that it is an excellent vehicle, so well worth the search. I doubt that you will find too many low mileage ones around, though - not the sort of car to be little used and even the last ones are six or seven years old now. I am intending to sell mine shortly in order to buy a new one, but as it's over the 100K mark and almost ten years old, it's not what you are looking for. Good luck in your search.

Out of interest what would you value a Merc 430E (X Reg) Estate with approx 100k miles. I say that since I have been offered such a vehicle, but feel the price is a bit high. The vehicle is presentable rather than perfect. Paintwork required on four of the three corners. Front leather seats average. Reasonable service history.

They seem to be between £4000 up to £6000 for a good one I would think the one you are looking at would be perhaps around the £4000 mark depending on condition and spec I suppose.

Thanks john hopefully something will come up soon good luck with selling yours the estates don't seem to hang around for very long very popular indeed. I will keep my eye out for it might be another option for me I know milage on these cars isn't really an issue just the rust problems.

Thanks for the advice re price.Certainly helped me conclude in my own mind that the current price is too high.
