Annoyingly, I can't find just the music from this, so you have to listen to this
annoying guy talking over the top.But this was Whale's Voyage on the CD32 and the
music rocked our world back in the day.You have to remember that even a few words
of basic speech was ultra rare back then (and rubbish).Suddenly you had real music
and voices!

Tony hawks pro skater 2 - anthrax &public enemy- bring the noise!

Diablo 2 had some great music, particularly liked Act1.

The guy who did a number of Namco's titles was quite good (Tekken, SoulCalibur, etc)

A lot of c64 stuff too, too numerous to mention, but they really put in the effort back in those days..

The soundtrack to Timesplitters 2, was briiliant, very fitting for each level.

I assume were talking about original scores, rather than popular tracks featured in games.

Shadow of the Beast 1&2 had great soundtracks (in fact I have them all on CD!).

The Monkey Island games...

Goldeneye had a great rendition of the James Bond theme.

Trent Reisner did a really good job with the Quake soundtracks...

Star Wars: Republic Commando (PC FPS) had a really good sound texturing software... less music and more ambient sounds whic didn't repeat on a loop, the software picked samples relevant to the location and randomly played them and their varients so you'd never hear exactly the same sounds on a second playthrough.

I'll agree with you on Republic Commando, played it on the original xbox and loved the sounds on it, all done by foley apparently.
