I've rebuilt my boat trailer, and the final process is to get some new tyres as the current ones have seen better days after being dragged in and out of salt water for many years.

Before I make a purchase I obviously want to get tyres of the correct load capacity....so, any ideas what the boat below weighs? 14ft fibreglass hull with a 60hp two-stroke on the back. I was think about 500kg's???

Cheers in advance

It won't be that much. Probably 400kg I would have thought but it depends on the build and layup I guess. The engine will be 100kg, no more and I doubt the boat is more than 300kg.

Can't you take it to a weigh bridge at a truck depot on another trailer?

If your trailer is unbraked, get tyres that will take up to a total gross weight of 750kg combined. That way they will take the maximim weight you can put on an unbraked trailer anyway.

...yep, the trailer is unbraked...so that's a fair point...750kg's will cover it plus a bit

I'd guess something to do with the rope for the waterskies...

Yeah, that will be a ski frame. Much better, from the skiers point of view, to tow from a higher point, especially when wakeboarding.

Yeah, it's a wakeboard frame, as others have said, much better to be towed from a higher point went on a wakeboard, helps with getting air etc and making the most of the 'wake'. I'm aware it does not look that pretty, but it does the job perfect, and cost nothing because I had the bits lying around! Happy days!
