Certainly very interesting. DJ's do a lot of public sector work so will be attractive to a business consultancy firm like Deloittes. I suspect a few more will go, but they will also be consultancy focussed firms, rather than brokerage focussed. One in particular springs to mind as a likely target at the moment.

It's how it works over the pond and was fiarly inevitable, i think the bigger challenge will be whether they can try and integrate a brokerage firm as this is where the big fees are earnt, but will be much harder to integrate into a consultancy business.

Historically, looking at the property services sector, consultancy / brokerage mergers don't work, and mergers generally have a very poor record of staff retention. Look at the likes of DTZ / Donaldsons, CBRE / Dalgleish, CBRE / (aborted) Nelson Bakewell attempt.

most property people don't want to work for big companies and the culture change is too much. DJ's is probably the best fit, but it'll be interesting to see what PWC, EY etc try...
