Rude number plates?

I'm not sure I get why people have these. The deliberately mis-spaced one I saw yesterday was C17NT F.

Now I can't think what that might say and itmight not say what I think it said but he certainly drove like one.

When selling bikes, I put PUH 55Y on the moped of a very attractive girl but as the plate was on two lines, I suspect only I ever saw the joke. She was none the wiser.

There was a white R8 with a plate like that at the Sunday service at the BMW place a few months ago.
