Current Cheapest place to pick up Xbox 360 Elite?

Hi Guys.

My current Xbox sounds like its going to give up soon, its a release model, never gone wrong, or had RROD.

So im looking at upgrading to the Elite, (120gb).

Wheres the cheapest you've seen it?

Ive seen £170 in HMV currently.

Im not that interested in bundles with games, mainly just the console, but obviously if there is a deal to be had with games, then I can consider it.

Trade it in before it does go wrong completely.

Did this with mine and because I had all the manuals still in packaging, remote etc they gave me £100 off an Elite.
I confessed that it had the DVD Drive replaced due to the disc eating habit. This was Gamestation and they even lent me the transfer cable to swap HDDs (£50 refundable deposit). Found that talking to them most are keen gamers anyway and gave loads of honest advice and help.

After a quick search of Google Shopping it seems HMV are the cheapest by a fair distance, Tesco had it for £185.

As above trade your old 360 in against the new Elite!

Hmmm.

Think I may phone Gamestation tomorrow, and see what they offer for it.

I do Ideally need to transfer my game saves to either a memory card, if possible? Is it big enough, or use the data transfer cable been mentioned.

ooooh good idea.

mine is currently refusing to read discs - except about one in every ten attempts.

so if i exchange it agasint a new elite then i get a good deal hmmmm.

i also have all packaging etc etc.

I picked mine up from Gamestation about 2 weeks ago, £199 with Fifa 10 and Forza 3

Now I know you arent interested in games, but they gave me £30 for FM3 on trade in when traded against a new or preowned chart title, so I got Arkham Asylum (preowned) for £17 and still have £12 to spend

They also confirmed it was the newer Elite with the Jasper chipset which is supposed to be RROD proof

I'm not sure and I'm not at home this weekend, I'm fairly sure that any elites after June/July 09 are Jaspers so your sept one should be sweet, not 100% though, I'll check on Monday for you

Well I did it.

Went into Game, and they gave me £75 against a new xbox.

I traded in my old release date 20gb xbox.
