Heard about it this morning.
Member of the public found a "strange package" beside the Guild street bridge, next to the rail and bus station.
Trains were terminated at Dyce and Stonehaven and buses were delayed.
Bomb Squad came up from Edinburgh, used a robot, but was later declared safe.

Scary stuff!

Its just you. Or rather it should be, if you mean having a rummage around to see whats inside.

Well, more like little baked bits of you, stuck on the wall on the opposite side of the road.

I wish they'ld tell us what was in it. Just because it's now been declared safe doesn't mean it was dangerous in the first place.

I'm sure it's all part of keeping us on our toes.

Agreed.

"The suspect package was actually a paper bag containing half a sausage supper and a can of Irn Bru"

Doesn't sound nearly as bad as,

"The suspect package has now been declared safe" hehe

So it was actually a WMD, then. Well done!

Apparently it was actually just a plastic bag wrapped round something.

But awesome robot!

Yes that's one clever little robot.
Notice how it won't approach the package until the man has checked it.

What they failed to spot was the bomb in the grey bag ahead of the one they were checking..

You see rubbish like that all over town!

Walk down union street and you'll probably see a little bag like that somewhere! Who the hell thought that was a bomb?!

This city drives me mad at points!

Also, love the lawnmower.

On the news now, someone has been charged over the disruption.

I imagine if it was a bomb and had gone off the resultant crater would still have been smaller than the majority of the fking pot holes on every single road in Aberdeen.

I saw a motorcyclist come a croper due to a mamoth pot-hole thankfully he was ok but his bike was a mess.

Lovin it! Blowing up the centre of Aberdeen would be doing the nation a service - at least it would clean it up a bit... rofl

TBH reminds me of a time where the westbound district line platform at Hammersmith tube station was closed because of a "suspect package"

This was IRA era rather than Al Queda, but anyhoo ... so the piccadilly trains are still stopping and loading / inloading passangers as is the eastbound district line.

There is a cordon of police tape arounnd this pile of bags on the platform .... bomb squad bloke walks up, gently walks to the bags, pokes about in them gingerly with his swagger stick, then pulls out a sarnie and walks off eating it hehe

turns out it was some old dear's groceries!!! hehe
