My First dslr pics.....
Discussion
First batch of piccies from my new d3000 that I got before xmas, not sure if they are of any interest - I quite like a couple of them.
C&C appreciated on them if anyone is interested! - all photos as they are straight from the memory card - no editing or processing done yet. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone thought a bit of processing could improve any of these?
This is also the first time i've linked from Flikr so please kick me if these are the wrong size etc.

eta: Ignore me for the time being - i'm having issues posting images!

Polar bear is nice.
Could do with a tad more contrast.
Can't easily distinguish from the sno...............
Oh I see!
Give it a
!!
ETA that's better. Promising - definitely promising. Last one, I like. The ones into the sun show up the difficulty of going contra jour without the aid of a safety net. Are you going RAW or in-camera Jpegging?

I spotted the icicles hanging off the sign, my eyes immediately drawn to it, and I fantasised slightly about a composition more attuned to them - but maybe needing to combine shots metered for the sky (which looks quite dynamic there) with the detail of the sign.
(Then again that's for week two of the learning process!)

I'd best hold out for some more snow some time in March I think for that!(Then again that's for week two of the learning process!)
