Crumpler Gigolo....any views?
Discussion
See - that's why he's not coming to buy mine tomorrow
We've just gate-crashed someone's thread and dragged it horribly O/T. And this time it's not even YOUR thread!
Anyway, I like the look of the Crumplers. But I've now had a sniff round http://www.crumpler.eu/?product=Company_Gigolo&...
Is this it?
For me a Lowepro Slingshot is a good choice for accessibility of camera with a single shoulder strap: http://products.lowepro.com/product/SlingShot-2000...
(Otherwise I use a Billingham Hadley - like a Crumpler with Green Wellies on.)

I like Crumpler bags in general, but not familiar with that one. I use one of these:

and like it a lot. A proper 2 strapped rucksack, but with side access to camera so you don't have to take it fully off to access the camera.

Poor quality pic, but I had to use my phone...
I have one

I love it, paid top whack for it though. The photo above isn't fully packed, where the Nikon strap is I'd normally have my compact camera and the gap top right (where the white pot is) would be where my camcorder would live.
It's tough, really feel like it's protecting the camera and also has a rainproof cover you can tuck away. If you want any more pictures let me know.
Hi
Depends which one you're looking at, there seem to be a lot of sizes - I have the Gigolo 9500. Takes a fair bit of kit, including a 15" macbook.
Things that seem to be true of all of them is that they're very well made. The front of the bag is also "solid", not quite sure how to describe it but it's stiff and offers good protection for what's inside. The potential downside is that it won't crush down when not fully loaded (found this out trying to get it into overheard lockers on planes and into cars with smaller than average boots). It's also worth knowing that you need to unzip pretty much all the way it to get the camera out - I've not found it an issue, but as I have the big version I'm not walking around citys, car shows etc with it. If you want to sling it over your shoulder but get to the camera quickly I can see this being annoying and you might miss some opportunities as a result.
If you're looking at the 9500 or 9000 then bear in mind that the laptop compartment (in the back of the bag) is very snug and really only designed for recent mac laptops. It also seems to put a bit of pressure on the laptop once it's in there - not an issue with the fairly solid macbook pro but I tried to put my IBM work laptop in and it was impossible without a huge amount for force.
Any other questions feel free to ask and I'll have a look
