Alarm Problem

I have searched around here and seloc but can't find the answer to my problem.

When I try and arm my alarm (pressing the big button for my 02 k-series with standard cobra alarm) it does the typical double beep, waits about 2 seconds then does a continuous beep. The doors and boot are locked and the front access panels seem to be fitted fine. Does anyone know what this beeps means so I can at least narrow down the problem?

I hear about an alarm reset procedure but can't find evidence of it anywhere and all links to the user manual end in a 404 error.

I think it means one of the sensors/ buttons isn't working. i.e. the alarm thinks it is open. Worth checking the access panels and the boot lid.
