Name the boiler (overflow?) part!
Discussion
Afternoon all,
Haven't been able to get a picture (or find one online), but there's an open black plastic cup-like arrangement in one of the vertical pipes from the boiler - I presume this is some kind of overflow/expansion item?
The pipe coming down from the boiler is constantly trickling water out down into this "cup", the pipe from which leads I know not where (it's a first-floor flat).
Now, since it never used to happen, I presume something is over-pressurised or leaking in the boiler somewhere.
From my poor explanation can any suggest what's happening (other than something's leaking!)?
Ta,
Steve

It's a tundish and it is indicating a fault. The relief valve is lifting. If your pressure gauge is not up at 3Bar either the gauge is faulty and you have a problem, or the valve needs replacing/cleaning. Have you been topping it up?? If not, then the filling loop is open.
