Schwable Marathon Plus. Although I recommend going up to a 25 to make them easier to fit. Bullet proof, even used them for off road riding at road pressures. Plenty of grip and they have a reflective strip around the bead which is a nice bonus whilst commuting.

I've always been happy with the puncture protection offered by Continentals - GP4000s or Ultra Gators. Long lasting, good grip, fairly light. Recently I've been using Michelin Pro Race 3s, which for racing rubber have been surprisingly excellent on my day-to-day fixed commuter - wet or dry. My only complaint is that while their inherant softness is bloody grippy, they do seem to cut up easier than other tyres. The small tears/gaps allow small stones etc to get lodged into the casing. If you don't make a habit of picking them out, they will burrow through eventually.

Another vote for Continental Ultragators in 23mm. I used them for 2 years in London commuting and did not pick up a single puncture

Same problem as OP, I bought 25c Gator Skins, only done a few rides, seem good so far, seemed very well made for price.

No there's not a lot of difference between a 23 and a 25 but if you've adjusted the mudguards to run really close to the current tyres then they may need adjusting.

I use Vredstein Fortezza's 700 x 23C, good puncture resistance and pretty good grip.
They can take almost as much pressure as a tub 170psi max, I run mine about 120psi

Conti GatorskinsHamster skins have only ever lasted me thirty miles at the most before puntures/cuts and even a sidewall blowout so never touch them.

I haven't tried the Schwalbe Marathon plus, but have heard mixed reviews. I have been running Specialized Armadillo's for a few years now and they are awesome. I commute daily in London and did the London to Paris last year, no drama's when on 1 day our group of 5 had 8 punctures between them.

I run Bontrager Race Lites on my roadie, and have done for the last 2500miles, not had one puncture yet....(touch wood ), dry grip is fine, wet grip not so good but depends how you ride, I've only ever come off once in the wet and that was on wet leaves!

Continental GP4000S are very good indeed, particularly as they are considered a race tyre.

Also consider going tubeless with Hutchinson, as punctures become almost non-existant.

Got some hard case botragers now, and moved up to 25c, smoother ride, and almost as quick..

I've been happy with my Conti 23mm GatorSkins although my mate runs them too and had a puncture on his commute today. I don't think a puncture proof tyres exists to be honest. Whichever tyre you do go for you make sure it's pumped up to its recommended pressure.

they do, but you pay for it in weight. the armadillo is nigh on bombproof.

very strange but i do understand, i wont buy sram (off road) stuff once the bits on my bike die as the reliability is shocking.

maybe one of the rims was damaged on the inside?

I think the Armadillo is a great tyre, been commuting on them for about 2 years without a puncture. Soon got fed up getting on average a puncture a week on the crappy tyres that came on the bike.

I'm on the All Condition Armadillo 700x23. I haven't got much to compare them against to be honest but the grip doesn't seem too bad to me. I've had two offs with them, one when I slipped on a wet manhole cover and the over going way too fast around a wet corner.

I think the trick is to not pedal when going around corners in the wet.
