Sorry if this is a repost but the search system isn't producing any decent results.
I have no heat in my apartment and cannot get a plumber for two days.
Temps here are -7 and falling fast over the next couple of days and I could do without having to move into a hotel.
We recently had a new oil fired burner fitted and the system reset last week, the guy who came effectively backed off the mixture as the system was burning way too much oil.
The burner is running to spec and is producing hot water.
The problem is the Rads keep filling with air.
I have been bleeding them all evening and still air keeps coming out. They are filling with hot water (to the point they are at a good temperature) but an hour later they are dropping in temp and have air in them again.
I tried opening all the rads in the place and got all the first floor ones to heat up, I got no heat to the second floor at all.
I have tried with the thermostats on the rads at half and fully open and it hasn't made much difference.
Our downstairs neighbours are having no problems so it appears to be on my 'loop' that the problem is starting. At the weekend the only thing i can think that could have set it off is that we had a lot of pipe banging - which I put down to trapped air and figured I'd bleed it out, I guess I am still trying to shift it all.
Any ideas? Please?

I would guess your central heating is 'closed' ie limited to your apartment - unless you're in a building with a communal boiler, so your neighbour wouldn't be experience your heating problems.
I would be worried about where the water from your radiators is going and would suggest you have a leak somewhere. If the radiators are filling with air then the air is pushing the water somewhere.
It may be that the water is simply going out through an overflow from your boiler and being emptied outside your property but that's something you need to check on asap. The system is closed, so once it's empty there will be no more water until you top it up again but it must be exiting somewhere for the air to replace it - time for a plumber - I would suggest - good luck.

Hi thanks.I would be worried about where the water from your radiators is going and would suggest you have a leak somewhere. If the radiators are filling with air then the air is pushing the water somewhere.

I was afraid of that.
The heating is closed to my apartment.
The pipes are set in the floor, but I have no 'hot spots' on the floor and no trace of water downstairs. I suspect that if there was a leak I wouldn't get water to the rads if I opened the bleed valve - the rads get fully hot over the full surface, not just a little.
Guess I'll try pressure testing it and see if that sheds some light.
